Is Your Diet Promoting Inflammation? Take the Quiz.

According to the National Cancer Institute and other large studies like the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition people consuming low inflammatory, plant-based diets that decrease risk of developing chronic diseases such as cancer. Further evidence of the correlation between food and health and longevity can be found in the Blue Zones around the world where chronic disease such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes is virtually non existent and longevity well past the 100 year mark is the norm.

Using statistics from these studies scientists have determined recommendations for diets that help decrease the risk of development of chronic illnesses, and increase the risk of remission.

How does your diet compare? Answers are yes or no.

I drink at least 64 ounces of water per day?

I eat less than 4 servings of cow milk products, including cheese per week?

I eat less than 3 servings of red meat per week?

White potatoes are not a major part of my weekly diet; I consume them less then 3 times a week?

I consume less than 30 grams of simple sugar from processed foods and sugar per day (not including fruit)?

I eat at least four servings of fresh vegetables per day?

I consume at least four servings or beans or lentil per week?
